Young adult female came to see me today for her TMJ(Temporomandibular joint) pain that she has been suffering for last six month. Even though she had full range of motion of her mouth, she had been suffering dull ache pain all the time last six month. Her pain level was 7/10. Her pain was worse when she was driving, at night time or when she gets up in the morning.
Her muscles that caused pain were very tight and it caused her headaches as well.
She had limited range of motion of her neck rotation and her shoulder muscle(Trapezius) were very tight.
Orthopedic muscle test was also performed to find inhibited muscle on her upper body and her Deltoid, Serratus Anterior, Oblique were inhibited.
Charles performed massage technique for a couple of minutes on the two muscles that caused issues and also Charles applied motor point acupuncture on those two muscles (only four needles were used!) for 30 minutes.
She was extremely happy with the result and she didn't feel too bad at all! She was especially happy with very minimal needles with great result!
Bring your TMJ to Charles! He will be so excited to help you to be better!

Patient of the week: Shoulder Tendonitis
Another happy patient with the great result!
She came to see me for the shoulder tendonitis three weeks ago. Her range of motion was very limited as you can see and pain level was 12 out of 10! It was very painful when it was palpated!
Combination of fire 🔥cupping and electro ⚡ acupuncture were used to promote blood circulation for the inflammation and to induce the pain killing hormones in the blood stream on affected shoulder!
Couple of minutes of jade muscle rubbing technique was also applied on the shoulder to help the healing process!
The result is amazing as you can see the photo of second week! Her range of motion has greatly improved and her pain level reduced to 2 out of 10!
Don't suffer from your pain but come to see Charles and change your quality of life!
Last week of June, I got a referral a patient from the physio therapy clinic. Early 70's male patient had been suffering front thigh pain for six month and he had been seeing doctors and physio therapists but he had no luck.
June 23rd, 2020_Initial appointment
He was complaining the pain on the both front thighs and he described the pain on the skin surface that similar as when we get flu. It affected him while he was walking and the pain woke him up during sleep as well. He has been taking tylenol too. According to him, Acupuncture was last hope for him.
Orthopedic muscle function test was performed for lower body part to in order to find out which muscle group was inhibited and not functioning well. As a result, actually his front thigh muscles were working fine and strong but his piriformis, glute medius and minius, and TFL muscles were weak and very tight. Also, he had a pain on his lateral thighs on both IT band area. Especially, his piriformis were very tight and he couldn't perform piriformis stretching well on the chair due to tightness.
Cupping therapy and electro-acupuncture were applied to in order to relax his tight muscles of Piriformis, TFL and recover those muscles functions.
July 7th, 2020 on third appointment
He felt noticeable difference after second week of treatment and he was quite surprised with the result! He felt a lot less pain and his pain level down to 2/10 from 10/10. He had been sleeping well and it didn't bother him while he walked as well!
Another happy patient of the day! Love this medicine and it feels good when I could help to improve my patient's life quality!

14 years old female basket ball player came to seek for the help for her leg pain due to sports injury and she was in pain on her medial and posterior lower leg when she jumped or ran during the game and practice.
She has been suffering from the pain for 4 months. She went to see multiple therapists last four month but it only gave her temporary relief then her pain got right back. Her pain level before the treatment was 7-8 / 10 when we did body lifting test with each legs.
Tibialis posterior muscle is the key muscle and tendon that stabilizes your ankle and it is very common that young basket ball player injures their tibialis posterior muscle during their practice or playing games. Since it is located on the behind of Tibia bone, it is very hard to reach to treat but acupuncture is not only easy way to access this specific muscle but also very efficient way to treat this muscle combination with electro stimulation.
After her first treatment, her pain got reduce 80% at least.

One of my patient's younger sister had surgery on her right hip and she had some pain occurred on surgery area because she wanted to do a lot of activities and she didn't slow down!
While she was waiting for her older sister today, I treated younger sister's hip pain using the opposite arm and I let her walk right after needling. As soon as she started the walk, she was quite surprised! Her mother asked how was her pain level then she said it is -5!! :D
Distal Needling Acupuncture works for instant pain relief by making our brain notice the pain on the targeted area more effectively and let your brain releases pain killer hormones on the local area with more blood flow!

On Sep 12th 2019, early 40's local female artist came to see me and she was complaint about her neck & top of the shoulder tightness and right scapular pain. She was suffering from numbness & sharp pain on her shoulder and deep inside of her right scapular at the end of the day since she used her arm a lot for her art work daily. She couldn't sleep on right side at all due to the shoulder pain and her pain was occurring everyday. She was seeking for the help to manage her pain.
As we assessed her muscle and mobility, we found that her neck's range of motion was restricted and she was unable to turn her head side to side entirely. Her trapezes and rhomboid muscle were very tight then it restricted her neck's range of motion and caused her pain on scapular.
Electro(Motor point) acupuncture and cupping therapy applied for her pain and tightness since Sept 12th once per week.
Oct 3rd 2019,
It was her 4th treatment and she had so much improvement last four weeks. She could sleep on right side without the pain, her muscle got so much looser. So that her neck range of motion got fully recovered. (now, she can turn her head when she drives! ;) ). Her right scapular pain was still remaining but her pain level gone down much more and it didn't hurt all the time as it used to be but it was painful only at the end of the day after her art work.
There was another happy patient! :)
Don't suffer from your pain! Reach out Charles and get better today!

What is the function of trapezius muscle?
The trapezius muscle is a postural and active movement muscle, used to tilt and turn the head and neck, shrug, steady the shoulders, and twist the arms. The trapezius elevates, depresses, rotates, and retracts the scapula, or shoulder blade. Innervation of the trapezius is derived from the spinal accessory nerve.
What causes pain in the trapezius muscle?
There are several possible causes of trapezius pain, including:
Overuse : Pain in the trapezius often develops due to overuse. Repetitive activities that involve the shoulders can put stress on the muscle. These activities may include lifting heavy objects or participating in specific sports, such as swimming.
Stress : It is common for people to tense the muscles of the shoulder and neck when they feel stressed. This excess tension can lead to muscle soreness over time.
Poor posture : Prolonged poor posture can place added stress on the trapezius. Hunching over a desk or computer keyboard for many hours can result in the muscle becoming shortened and tight.
Trauma : Injuries to the trapezius, such as a muscle tear from placing too much force on the muscle, can lead to pain.
